Head of the River Race 2008

It was off to London for the Head of the River Race 2008, with an entry of 420 eights from Great Britain, Ireland and Europe. The club entered both the inter and novice eights in the elite category to gain experience in this the most prestigious of head races. The inter crew put in a strong performance finishing an encouraging 78th place in a time of 19:06, ten seconds ahead of UCD’s entry. The novice crew finished in a time of 19:52 and placed 187th which was promising, but the crew seemed disappointed with this result, feeling they had much more to give. In conclusion, the weekend was greatly enjoyed and the club hope to return next year finishing higher up the order using the valuable experience we have gained.

Results of the race can be found here.
