Queen’s take title for a second year (Belfast Telegraph)

ROWING: Queen’s University Boat Club’s senior eight cruised to the head of the river title for the second year in a row.

The Queen’s competitors passed their test with flying colours with the university’s second team finishing runner-up in the 4,200 metre challenge.

Both crews saw off a determined challenge from UCDBC and Neptune’s senior eights.

Queen’s first crew can reflect on a powerful performance and they have benefitted greatly from the expert guidance of coach Mark Fangen-Hall.

Bann’s junior 18 eight produced an excellent performance to triumph in the 2,700 metre Maysfield to Stranmillis race.

Belfast Boat Club’s men’s master eight, who finished eleventh overall, snatched the veteran pennant ahead of Old Collegians.

The fastest women’s crew was DULBC’s senior eight.
