Queens at the Irish Rowing Championship 2011 DAY 2 : QUB take their first two pots

Irish Rowing Championship 2011
QUB take their first two pots

Queens have picked up their first victories of the 2011 championships.  On day two the men’s senior 2- became the first QUB crew since 1979 to win a men’s senior sweep event. The Men’s Senior 4x came second to Skibbereen (the country’s top sculling club). Later in the morning the men’s inter 8+ recovered from a disappointing row in the men’s 4+ on Thursday, to pick up the second pot of the day and took the inter tile, last won by QUB in 2009.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to the Women’s Novice and Intermediate 8+s, the Men’s Intermediate 2+, Men’s Novice 4+ and the Men’s Senior 8+s (where UCD is the highly fancied crew).
