Irish Rowing Championships 2012 Inniscarra Lake Co Cork (Day 3)
The morning session saw Queens novice men win the men’s 4+ championship of Ireland for the first time in the clubs history. That adds to the men’s novice 8+ pot that they won on Friday. The double win is testament to the hard work put in through the year and would not be possible without the whole novice team (everyone rowing at the champs and everyone who has rowed in along the way) and their coaches. Lads It is a great achievement.
Men’s novice 4+ winners Cox, Rupert Crowley , 4, Oisin Griffin 3, Conor Bell 2, Tiernan Oliver bow, Peter Mano Coaches Stephen Lockwood and Marc Butler, assisted by Paddy Doherty, Declan Gollogly, Jason Greenwood and Mark Jameson.
The afternoon seen the Queen’s Ladies/Skibbereen composite win the women’s senior 8+ with a comfortable lead over UCD and DUBC. A Historic victory for the ladies club and a great end to the season.
The Senior Men narrowly missed out on the Men’s senior 8+ again to NUIG/Grainne Mhoal. After a fiercely fought race it came down to 1/2 length.
