Queen’s season gets under way
19 October 2012

After pre season outings at the Barrow Challenge in Wexford and at the Tullamore sculling ladder, Queens men get there season underway today in England.  Unusually for the month of October, queens will race at the Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships, on the Olympic course at Eton Dorney. The event is being used to promote the sport on the back of the London 2012 games and is a dry run for the  proposed new British national championship format expected to start next September/October (2013).

The event is open to university and open clubs and Queens’s men will race in the 4- and 8+ events. The rest of the Queens men and women club will have to wait a few weeks longer for their first outing of the season which is expected to be at the upcoming Lagan mini head and Bann HOR.

The head of the Charles also takes place this weekend and we send best wishes to all the past QUB ores men/women taking part.
