Boathouse nears completion, novice recruitment and Tullamore trials

Evening All

As the University year is about to begin the Queen’s boathouse nears completion. Having worked tirelessly the construction of the newly refurbished is nearly finished, with a face-lift and an extension to the old boathouse the Queen’s oarsmen and oarswomen are excited by the prospect of pushing off the newly constructed pontoon!

The current Queen’s rowers are spotted around campus this week on the hunt for new rowers, recruitment has been going very well and a great interest has been shown for both novice rowing and those who have previous experience also showing interesting in joining Queen’s Boat Club. The finishing touches to our promotional video are nearly complete and this will be linked to the page shortly.

Also a quick update on a few of our current Queen’s rowers, with the Tullamore Trials taking place on the 3rd October, six Queen’s rowers will be attending and competing at this. Christopher Beck, Rebecca Edwards, Philip Doyle, Roisin Maguire, Tiernan Oliver and Rachel Brown shall all be travelling down to the trials. We wish them all the best and Good Luck.
