A fantastic day of rowing for Queen’s on Day 1 at BUCS.
The highlight of the day was the Men’s Novice 4+ A final. Half a length down at the 1km mark, they found an extra gear to row through Liverpool and take the Gold medal with clear water at the end. The B 4+ performed very well to come 2nd in the B final.
This followed on from medals in the Men’s Intermediate Single, taking both Gold and Silver in a two boat race, as well as first place in the B Final.
Queen’s also took Silver and narrowly missed out on Bronze in the Men’s Championship Single scull.
The Men’s Novice 4X placed 4th in their A final. A heartbreaking result for a crew that dominated their Semi-Final and has progressed immensely since being formed two months ago,
Similarly, the Women’s Championship Lightweight 2X were achingly close to making the Final. A tremendous showing for a crew that held their own in a field full of U23 International rowers.
The Women’s Intermediate 4X placed 4th in their C Final. A respectable result in a competitive category.
In the Men’s Intermediate Lightweight 1X, Queen’s placed 6th in the A Final and 1st in the B final.
