Following the fun and success had at last year’s regatta, it was decided, by popular demand, to return for this years event, with the guys entered in the Intermediate 8+, Novice 8+, Novice 4+ & Novice 1x categories and the ladies in the WNovice 4+.
Despite a very early train journey and the initial bad weather, Queens showed what they were made of with the Men winning all their sweep categories convincingly. The novice 4 event in particular was a great race with the underdogs, Queens B, beating Queens A in the final!
Credit must also be given to the ladies’ Novice 4+ who had an well deserved victory over UUC in their heat but were unfortunately beaten by a strong BRC crew in the final.
Overall a brilliant day was had by all and we will most likely return next year to enjoy more great racing.
