After a long hard season ending with much success in the Irish Championships in Cork, for most of the club that meant the end of the season and the prospect of a summer away from rowing, a chance to relax and recover before next year’s season starts.
However for the Senior Ladies this is not the case. After the Champs the girls have continued with their training in the coxless four in preparation for the ‘World University Rowing Championships’ which will be held in Kazan, Russia.
The girls, Hannah Lavery, Emma Kerrigan, Alex Greene, and Claire McIlwaine, along with their coach Julie Lynch, will travel to Kazan next Monday to complete their final preparations before their races at the weekend when they will represent Irish Universities. The first race in the Championships will be on Friday 7th September and they will have stiff competition from crews from all over the world. The semi finals and finals will be held on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
We wish our Senior Ladies the very best of luck at this prestigious event.

Ladies…I wish you good luck in the Championship. I enjoyed rowing and particularly while I was a student at QUB. I now live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania just one quarter mile from Three Rivers Rowing. I helped get this Club started in 1985.Dave Figgins
