Good Evening from day 2 of Irish Championships 2017!

This mornings racing began with 2 Men’s Club 1X, with Tom LeSeelleur from our novice squad racing for the first time in the single.
Next followed the Men’s Intermediate 8+, a straight final against well established competitors ended an impressive season for the squad.
The Women began their day with Ella Brogan and Rachel Smylie in the Intermediate 2X who came a close 4th and so just missed out on the final.

With weather conditions worsening, Michael McNamee raced the Men’s Intermediate 1X followed by Emily Sampson-Barnes in the Women’s Club 1X. QUBLBC also fielded a Senior 2-, Emily Romeril and Rachel Cartin. Due to the terrible conditions, the rest of the afternoons racing was cancelled and so the Men’s Novice 8+ has been moved to tomorrow morning (Sunday).

Over to the EUSA rowing Championships in Serbia where Sam McKeown performed well and is through to the final of the Mens 1X tomorrow. ( Sunday @ 14.50 CET)

We hope conditions improve for tomorrows racing in Cork and send good luck to our athletes for their finals in Serbia representing GB University’s.

Yours in rowing

Abbie Ellis-Saunders and Lucy Burrows
